Dr. Jacques Duff. BA - Psych.; Grad. Dip. App. Sc.(Psych.) PhD ; MAPS; FANSA; MECNS; MISNR
Principal Psychologist, Neuroscientist and Nutritionist
Dr. Jacques Duff is the founder and Clinical Director of the Clinic. Since 1997 he has been involved in Clinical Neuroscience research at the Brain Sciences Institute, investigating the causes of ADHD and its treatment using Neurotherapy. In addition to being a psychologist, he has Postgraduate training in Clinical Neuroscience and Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. He has also received DAN training for Biomedical treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
His daily clinical work with ADHD has been featured on several TV programs such as Good Medicine, Catalyst the morning show with Kerry Anne, Today-Tonight and in national newspapers and Television News. He has presented extensively on the treatment of ADHD and childhood disorders at local and International seminars, including a keynote address for the Department of education & Training "Student Wellbeing Conference" and the 2nd International Mind of a child conference.

Quantitative EEG; Neurotherapy; Metabolic underpinnings to Mental Health issues, Nutritional and Dietary influences on disorders. Nutritional Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, DNA polymorphisms (Variant DNA genes that predispose to modern diseases and mental health issues) and their treatment through nutrigenomic interventions.

Helen Salter BA Grad Dip (Psych) Senior Psychologist
Helen has over 15 years of experience as an Autism specialist. She runs the Autism section of the clinic and is in charge of other therapists involved in behavioural assesssment and treatment of children with Autism. She has developed all of the treatment programs at the clinic and presents regularly on the clinic's PRT course, which she developed. Helen is primarily a hands on clinician whose ability to connect with parents, therapists and children with autism is second to none.
Katrina Bello B.BSc.(Hons), PhD Candidate, AssocMAPS, MANSA
Kat is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society, a member of the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia, and other organisations, including the ABIA, Autism Victoria, and Autism Speaks. She has completed post graduate studies in neuropsychology and her PhD research thesis focused on various aspects of visual attention and information processing of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with and without intellectual disability. Kat's work experience has included diverse group of adults and children, including children who have ASD, Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS, ADD/ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Intellectual Disability and behavioural problems.

Dr. Siobhan Pirola-Merlo (BSc(Hons), Dip Ed, PhD)
Dr. Pirola-Merlo is a psychologist and expert in education and learning. Her PhD involved using cognitive science theory to develop strategies for teaching children to write persuasive essays. She is author of a major education textbook (“Relationship Management in the Primary School Classroom: Strategies in the Legal and Social Context”), and has also worked as a teacher and editor. She has extensive experience conducting educational and psychological assessments, coaching/counselling children to achieve performance gains, and social skills training.
Nadine Touzeau B.Sc. (Biology), B.A. (Psychology), Grad. Dip.Psych., MANSA
Nadine has completed post graduate studies in psychology. Her research thesis investigated personality differences and the phenomenology of consciousness in relation to craving behaviour. Nadine's work experience has included diverse group of adults and children, including children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS, ADD/ADHD and children at risk of harm.
Nadine has experience in crisis telephone counselling and assists the psychologists with assessments and implementing the various interventions and programs being provided to adults and children at the clinic. Nadine is also trained as a Quantitative Electroencephalographic (QEEG) technician and analyst, Neurotherapist and ABA/PRT therapist. In addition to her work with adults and children, Nadine assists in the presentaion of ABA/PRT and home Neurotherapy workshops, providing parents, teachers and other professions with education and practical training in these therapies. Nadine is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and Associate Member of the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia.
Dr. Joe Nastasi MBBS, BSc, Dip. Acu, Dip. Appl Sc, GSIM, ACNEM.
Dr Nastasi is a medical practitioner with a long-standing interest in medical sciences. He has postgraduate experience in Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Psychiatry and Family Practice. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and Acupuncture.
His interest is in investigating and treating the anomalies in metabolism that may be responsible for some childhood disorders and many other modern diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chronic fatigue and Cardiovascular disease amongst others. Dr Nastasi was also a Lecturer at the Swinburne University School of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Duff and Dr. Nastasi work closely in the management of the clinic's patients.
Dr. Dennis Shum - MBBS; FRANCP
Dr Shum is a Psychiatrist in private practice who has extensive experience in conventional Psychiatry, Quantitative EEG, Neurotherapy and Nutrition. He also has a keen interest in the relationship between metabolic and biological factors and psychiatric disorders. In particular he is interested in the adjunct use of QEEG in the differential diagnosis of Post-concussion Syndrome from psychiatric disorders and in the differential diagnosis of Early Degenerative Dementia from Depression. Dr Shum is available as a specialist consultant for medico legal cases involving head injury cases where evidence of Post-concussion Syndrome, supported by QEEG evidence, is sought
Dr Henry Butt - MSc, PhD (Microbiology)
Dr. Butt is a senior scientist and Research Director of Bioscreen Medical, a specialist Microbiology Laboratory, based at Melbourne University Bio 21. Dr Butt and Dr Duff havecollaborated to investigate how Intestinal Dysbiosis (overgrowth of some bacteria usually found in the gut) may cause leaky gut and lead to nutrient malabsorbtion, cellular malnutrition, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and associated Psychiatric Disorders. Dr Butt is a specialist consultant to the clinic in all matters relating to intestinal microorganisms.
